False! Cats have very good balance and can survive many falls. As long as a cat has enough time during the fall to regain balance and land feet first, he/she will usually survive. However falls that are too short or too high can result in serious injury and even death. Even a fall from a short distance, in which your cat does land on his/her feet, can result in broken bones and injuries.
